It's not true that you can only have one best friend.  You can have lots of them and in fact, you can't have too many.

Now, the Best Friends Animal Society is inviting you to come find a new best friend, one that would surely be a BFF, best friend forever.

On Sunday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Best Friends is inviting you to the La Brea Tar Pits, at 5801 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles.  But, you won't be there to see dinosaur bones.  You'll be there to meet, and perhaps take home,  local adoptable pets, dogs, cats, even bunnies.

And, you're urged to bring the  whole family, for dog agility contests, face painting, celebrity guests and more.

There will be food, and shopping, so animal lovers can indulge those other passions.

The Best Friends Animal Society says it is working toward a time when there are no more homeless pets.  They offer many different options for people who would like to help, including adoption and sponsoring an animal in need.
