A freight train derailment caused delays Monday morning for commuters at Union Station.

Cars on a Union Pacific train went off the tracks at about 1:30 a.m. near the LA River.

The derailment prompted the cancellation of at least one of Metrolink's commuter trains. Delays of up to one hour were reported for several other trains.

Authorities are investigating the derailment.
