Gas Prices Back on the Rise

Prices are up 10 cents from last week

The average price of regular gas is up about 10 cents in Orange County. According to AAA and Oil Price Information Service figures, the average price is now $3.08.

Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California said that the only thing they can attribute to the rising prices is “the fact that crude oil prices have shot up.”

Today’s average price is an increase of about 10.5 cents from last week, 9.3 cents from last month, and 5.8 cents from last year, reports the OC Register:

"They typical behavior (at this time of year) is for prices to come down, however we never really went up this year," Montgomery said. "The prices have stayed within a narrow band - pretty much between $2.90 and $3.10."

According to orangecountygasprices.com, the cheapest gas can be found for $2.83 in Anaheim at the ARCO station at 1201 South Brookhurst Street and Ball Road.  The most expensive gas is in San Juan Capistrano at $3.45 at the 76 station at 27164 Ortega Highway and the 5 freeway.

Gasbuddy.com reports that the average price in the country today is $2.82, which is up from $2.48 one year ago.
