Nominated for Female Best Singer-Songwriter of the Year, Michele Vreeland stays true to herself by
determination and working hard.

"You just keep doing what you do. I'm a big believer in you just don't worry about anyone else you just keep doing
what you do. You just keep doing what you're doing. That's what you do," said Vreeland.

At the same time, Vreeland has been running around promoting her music. She just returned from the South by
Southwest Music and Media Conference.

There are hundreds of artists that attend the event, but Michelle stays positive her music will be heard.

"It's like you work really hard and you hope somebody pays attention and this time someone did, so that was good."

One of her songs, "Nico", is like an homage to some of the girls out there that are misunderstood, but her
songwriting style tells a story.

"It's just a very empowering song for girls who maybe don't feeling like 1oo percent like the perfect girl,"
said Vreeland.
