uthorities said Riverside County Deputy District Attorney John Ruiz was found dead Wednesday. On Thursday, county authorities said the death was a suicide.
A public information spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Department who identified herself as Deputy Nieburger returned an NBCLA inquiry late Wednesday night and confirmed detectives were invegstigating the death.
"Riverside Sheriff homicide detectives are conducting an investigation in the death of Riverside County Deputy District Attorney John Ruiz. His death occurred at 10:30 a.m." Wednesday.
Nieburger said she was not allowed to say where Ruiz's body was found.
"Due to confidentiality we cannot release the investigation location" other than to say it was in Riverside County.
