Authorities say a suspected gunman has been arrested after a shooting in a Simi Valley dental office left one person dead and four others injured.

Simi Valley police spokesman John Stires says the suspect surrendered after barricading inside the Family Dental Care office for an hour Wednesday morning.

Ventura County fire spokesman Bill Nash says one victim was found dead at the scene. He says three others were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, and a fourth victim suffered minor injuries.

Stires says he has no immediate details of the shooting or the suspect's identity.

Correction: An early version of this story said four people were killed. At the time of posting, only one fatality was confirmed.
