An Orange County woman who apparently had a thing for dolls has been sentenced to prison.

Margot Jean Strawn, 58, of Laguna Hills, pleaded guilty for stealing more than $500,000 from the trust funds of siblings Michelle and Edmund Pellissier and spending the money on a doll collection.

Strawn, a former certified public accountant, was sentenced Monday to four years in state prison and ordered to pay more than $500,000 in restitution. She paid $95,000 at her sentencing.

Between 2001 and 2007, Strawn wrote checks to herself and deposited them into her personal bank account, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office. She also failed to file tax returns, according to the DA.

"She was very remorseful," said her attorney Brian Gurwitz. "She made the decision to plead guilty at the earliest opportunity and deeply regrets the harm she's done."
