Viral Videos Hope to Sway Marriage Debate

The Gay & Lesbian centers of Los Angeles and New York are sponsoring a viral video contest hoping to sway public opinion in favor of same sex marriage.
Project Pushback is designed promote “videos that have the potential to change hearts and minds about the freedom to marry for same-sex couples,” according to the centers' website.
Entrants were asked to submit videos of 60 seconds or less that would appeal to a wide audience. Videos could not attack any individual or organization or be specific to a particular election or ballot initiative.
More than 60 videos were submitted and viewers have until June 15th to vote on their favorite. The 10 videos receiving the greatest number of votes will be named finalists and submitted to a jury who will select the Grand Prize winner.
Prizes include cash awards up to $2,500 and a Sony HD video camera.
