A car slammed into a Riverside County Denny's Sunday morning, causing major damage and injuring one person, fire authorities said.
An 18-year-old was arrested in connection with the crash, which injured a person's leg while they were sitting at a booth in the Perris Denny's, at 570 East 4th Street, according to Cal Fire Riverside. The crash was reported at 5:47 a.m.
The building received major damage, a Cal Fire news release said. The injured person was taken to a hospital.
Footage from the scene showed a damaged black car nearly completely inside the restaurant, surrounded by wrecked furniture.
Riverside County Sheriff's deputy Damian Ruiz said an 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the crash, and that alcohol or drugs may have been involved.
