1 Killed, 2 Injured When Shots Fired at Graduation Party in Artesia

One man was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting at a graduation party in Artesia, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the 18000 block of Alburtis Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies said that four unknown men arrived at a graduation party for Downey High School and a confrontation broke out before shots rang out.

One victim was shot in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. Two others were taken to a hospital in fair condition.

There is no suspect information and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
