2 Killed in Crash on 10 Freeway in Pomona

Two men were killed after their vehicle crashed into the back of a semi-trailer Wednesday morning on the 10 Freeway in Pomona.

The crash was reported at around 3:47 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway near Indian Hill Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The roof of the men's sedan was sheared off and the car was pinned underneath the trailer, according to the California Highway Patrol. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The trailer was abandoned at the side of the road and was tagged by the California Highway Patrol earlier in the night. It is unknown what led up to the crash, but the California Highway Patrol noted speed appeared to be a major factor because of how far the trailer was pushed.

California Highway Patrol closed two of the right lanes for the investigation.
