101 Freeway Reopens After Morning Closure in Cahuenga Pass

The 101 Freeway was closed early Wednesday in the Cahuenga Pass due to police activity in the Universal City area.

The northbound side of the freeway was closed at Barham Boulevard after police received a report at about 5:30 a.m. of a person threatening to jump off the bridge. The CHP later confirmed the person jumped off the overpass and died.

Traffic backed up out of the Cahuenga Pass and into Hollywood. Some lanes reopened at about 7 a.m. Remaining lanes reopened later Wednesday morning.
