105 Freeway Ramp Closed in Lynwood for Carjacking Investigation

Officers in armored vehicles conducted a search in a neighborhood near the crashed car

The Long Beach Boulevard ramp on the 105 Freeway in Lynwood was closed early Tuesday for a police investigation involving a carjacking that led to neighborhood search.

Officers established a containment area as they searched for at least two subjects in connection with the armed carjacking. One person was taken into custody, but the search continued at 10 a.m.

The search led to a house just blocks from the freeway ramp. When officers opened the tailgate of a sporty utility in the property's driveway, they discovered a body.

It was not immediately clear whether the body is that of the second subject wanted in connection with the carjacking.

The Long Beach Boulevard freeway ramps (map) were closed for the investigation. Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to the location at about 3 a.m.

Aerial video showed a crashed vehicle near a freeway ramp. A canine unit was searching in the neighborhood.
