Missing 11-Year-Old Girl From South Gate Found

The girl's family said she has no prior history of running away

An 11-year-old Southern California girl who had been missing for more than 24 hours was found Wednesday night, her family said.

Heisslyn Daniela Vasquez's parents reported her missing about 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to South Gate Police Det. Evelyn Garcia.

The girl was last seen about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans, police said. She did not return home or show up to school Wednesday morning.

The girl was found about 8 p.m. Wednesday,

Her family said she has no prior history of running away.

It's unclear why the sixth-grader vanished.
