North and southbound lanes were closed in the downtown Los Angeles area Saturday afternoon due to police activity, snarling traffic.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a suspicious package on the northbound side of the freeway at Stadium Way.
Shortly thereafter, the southbound side of the 110 was shut down at Hill Street due to police activity.
The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating, CHP said.
Traffic on the northbound side of the 110 appeared to be backed up to the 10 Freeway.
All lanes were reopened at 4:50 p.m., according to CHP.
