In Hawthorne, police responded to mutliple calls about a tranformer explosion near Rosecrans Avenue up to Doty Avenue. There were no reports of damage or fire.
About 450 customers were without power after an equipment failure around 1:15 a.m., according to David Song of Edison. The outage was not a result of lightning, officials said.
