2-At Risk Boys Missing From Topanga Treatment Center

Two at-risk boys went missing from a treatment center in Topanga and sheriff's detectives asked for the public's help to find them.

Joshua Wood, 15, and Merrick Briggs, 12, were last seen about 7:45 a.m. at a treatment center in the 3200 block of Santa Maria Road, according to Deputy Kimberly Alexander.

Wood was recently hospitalized for "suicidal ideologies,'' Alexander said. Wood is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 125 pounds, has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black polo shirt and blue jeans.

Briggs is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 85 pounds has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt and black jeans.

Anyone who knows their whereabouts was asked to call sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills station Sgt. Dunn or Detective Manwell at (818) 878-1808 or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
