The victim of a hit-and-run crash that took place in the early morning hours on Sunday has died, according to Oxnard police.
Police discovered the man in the intersection at Fifth Street and Meta Street at around 2:30 a.m. after reports he was struck by an older model white SUV. He was taken Ventura County Medical Center for emergency surgery and later died from his injuries.
Investigators are looking into reports that immediately after the victim was involved in a “possible altercation” and whether the crash may related.
