24-Year-Old Man Found Dead Outside Home in Tustin

Police are searching for clues in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man Sunday morning in Tustin.

Jose Peralta of Orange was found dead about 6:05 a.m. on the front lawn of a home in the 600 block of West Main Street, Tustin police Lt. Robert Wright.

Peralta had suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head, Wright said. A passerby saw Peralta laying on the lawn and called police.

Peralta had no connection to the location where he was found, Wright said. An elderly man lives at that address.

The police department did not receive any calls for service in this area last night, Wright continued. It's not yet known if Peralta was shot where he fell or shot somewhere else and dumped on the lawn.

Anyone with information on this homicide was asked to call the Tustin police at (714) 573-3249.
