$25K Reward Offered in Fatal Carson Shooting of Mother, Son

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the shooting of a mother and son killed in their driveway last week in Carson.

Jordan Love, 27, and Michele Kelly-Love, 54, were shot just before midnight Saturday as they sat in a car in the 19500 block of Tillman Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"This pain is really deep. It's unimaginable but I'm bearing it," said Jose Love, Jordan Love's father, at a vigil honoring the victims Thursday.

The Loves were returning from a day with family when they were shot to death in their car just outside a family residence. Michelle Kelly-Love died in the vehicle. Her son got out of the car and made it to the lawn, where he collapsed and died. Jordan Love's grandmother, who was in the back seat, was not harmed.

Jose Love said he ran outside to find his son lying in his driveway and his ex-wife shot to death with her hands still on the steering wheel.

More than a dozen relatives joined a news conference Friday at the Carson City Hall where city officials and the sheriff's department announced a reward to find the victims' killer.

"To the person or persons who did this: my prayer is that you get no rest until you turn yourself in. Someone is sleeping next to a killer. Someone has a killer in their home," said Carson City Councilmember Jawane Hilton.

Investigators say there is no known motive or gang affiliation. The suspected vehicle was only described as a dark-colored sedan.

Jordan love left behind a young daughter, while Kelly-Love had two other children.

The city of Carson approved a $25,000 reward Thursday for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the case.

Anyone with information about the shooting was urged to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
