Arcadia Man Arrested in Connection with Pot Growing Operation

Police entered the house with a search warrant and seized 438 marijuana plants from an Arcadia home.

An Arcadia man has been arrested in connection to a large marijuana growing operation found inside a home Saturday night.

Yong Fa Jiang, 60, of Arcadia was questioned by police in connection with a suspicious vehicle on the 2000 block of South 6th Avenue at about 10 p.m. Saturday night.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a marijuana cultivation operation was being conducted inside a nearby house.

Police entered the house with a search warrant and seized 438 marijuana plants from the home, said Lt. Cullen of the Arcadia Police Department.

Police found and seized additional plants in the process of drying at the house, Cullen added.

A news release by police said the house was outfitted with several rooms consisting of specialized lighting, ventilation and electrical wiring.

Jiang was booked in jail on a felony charge of marijuana cultivation, which carries with it a fine of up to $10,000 and three years in prison. He is currently being held on $10,000 bail.
