Gunman Sought After 3 Hurt in Hawthorne Shooting

Three people were shot outside a shopping center in Hawthorne Sunday night, just one day after another shooting left a father of four dead at the same location.

"This right here is a hot area, so I would definitely not be in this parking lot too often," said Hawthorne resident Cory Crawfton.

The shooting was reported about 10:15 p.m. Sunday at Crenshaw and El Segundo boulevards, according to the Hawthorne Police Department.

Two people were listed in critical condition and a third person suffered minor injuries, police said.

A vehicle thought to contain a suspect was seen leaving the area, police said.

The shooting closed El Segundo Boulevard to traffic between Chadron and Van Ness avenues. Crenshaw Boulevard was closed to traffic between 135th Street and Jack Northrop Avenue for the investigation.

The incident comes just a day after a shooting left a father of four dead and another man hurt outside a barbershop at the same shopping center. Police were looking for the shooters involved in that incident and were investigating whether the shootings were connected.
