Multiple People Shot in South LA

Two nearby shootings were reported within 10 minutes of each other, fire officials said

Multiple people were wounded when gunfire broke out in South Los Angeles on Tuesday, police said.

Police responded about 5:45 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 4100 block of Palmyra Road, near the Santa Barbara Plaza Shopping Center, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Less than 10 minutes later, another shooting was reported nearby at a fire station in the 4400 block of W. Coliseum Street, an official with the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

At least two people were taken to the hospital following the shootings, police said.

Initial reports indicated that up to three people had been shot.

Aerial footage showed a heavy police presence at both locations.
