Judy Chu won the San Gabriel Valley's 32nd Congressional District election Tuesday.

In the special election, voters chose among the Democratic California Board of Equalization member; Betty Tom Chu (R), Judy Chu's cousin by marriage; and businessman Christopher Agrella.

"What a victory," said Judy Chu, according to the Pasadena Star News. "It's incredible to be standing here tonight."

Voters returned to the polls in a special election to fill the vacancy left by Congresswoman Hilda Solis, who resigned to become the U.S. Secretary of Labor in the Obama Administration. On March 10, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called the special election for July 14 in order to allow the primary election to be consolidated with the statewide special election on May 19.

Results are available on the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder's website.
