A preliminary 3.9 magnitude struck about eight miles north of Castaic in Los Angeles County Saturday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 8:12 a.m. about 9 miles north of Castaic, according to Ellen Yu at Caltech.
Earlier reports from the USGS suggested a 4.4 temblor struck near Maricopa, but the report was taken down.
The quake near Castaic was the only reported California temblor, officials said.
