1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured After Hit-And-Run at Bus Stop

One person died, two people were critically injured and another person declined to be taken to a hospital after a car crashed into a bus stop in South LA, fire officials said.

One person is dead and two other people were critically injured after a car crashed into a bus stop in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. A fourth person declined to be taken to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The crash occurred Tuesday around 7 p.m. in the 400 block of West 54th Street in South Los Angeles, Erik Scott of LAFD said.

A car was attempting to make a right turn into a driveway when another car rear-ended and propelled it into a bus stop, police said.

"A green Range Rover was sideswiped by a white Buick, and the Range Rover was forced on the sidewalk, striking three pedestrians," said Andre Frazier, who captured video of paramedics treating the three victims at the scene.

The car crashed into several people at the bus stop, killing one man and critically injuring two other people.

Another witness, Gigi Calderon, said she saw a car roll on top of a woman and a car hitting a man, who flew onto the middle of the street.

The first car stayed on scene. The second car that caused the crash fled the scene, officials said.

Authorities are looking for the driver of the white Buick, who they believe is a woman, said officer Ricardo Hernandez of the Los Angeles Police Department's South Traffic Division detectives.

There is no description of the woman at this time.
