A big rig spilled diesel fuel on the northbound 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass early Friday morning, prompting a full closure on the busy stretch in advance of the morning rush.
The northbound side of the freeway reopened at 8 a.m. after a morning of stop-and-go traffic through the Sepulveda Pass.
The spill was reported at 3:11 a.m. at Getty Center Drive. Traffic was passing the area in one lane until about 6:30 a.m. when all lanes on the northbound side of the freeway were closed.
Traffic was being diverted to the right shoulder of the freeway to get past the cleanup area.
The closure remained in effect until 8 a.m.
