The National Weather Service forecast winds gusting to 65 miles per hour in the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles Wednesday. Gusts of 60 miles per hour are expected through the Interstate 5 Corridor, an NWS advisory said.

A high wind warning will be in force until 3 a.m. Thursday in the mountains of Los Angeles County, excluding the Santa Monica range.

A less serious wind advisory was scheduled to be in effect until 3 Thursday morning in the Santa Clarita Valley, 9 tonight in the Antelope Valley, 8 tonight on Santa Catalina Island, and 9 this morning in the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational area.

The strongest gusts recorded this morning -- 53 mph -- occurred in Saugus.

A warming trend will set in Thursday, when local temperatures are forecast to be generally 7 to 10 degrees higher.
