$7.5 Million Worth of Marijuana Seized From Compton Growing Operation

About 4,200 live plants and 200 pounds of cured pot were seized.

Twelve people were arrested after an estimated $7.5 million worth of marijuana was seized Wednesday from a growing operation in Compton.

After obtaining information via a Los Angeles Crime Stoppers tip, investigators served a search warrant about 9 a.m. at a warehouse in the 2900 block of Ana Street and discovered "a large sophisticated marijuana growing operation," where about 4,200 live plants and 200 pounds of cured pot were seized, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Twelve adults were arrested on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation and booked at the Century Regional Detention Center, where each was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, officials said.
