Why is state Sen. Roderick Wright on a horse? We have no idea -- the photo was on his Web site, and we ran with it. But we do know this: The Los Angeles DA's office searched two residences last week to determine if Wright, a Democrat who represents the Fighting 25th district in the state senate, actually lives in the Fighting 25th.

The Los Angeles Times reported that investigators searched two homes early Wednesday morning, one in the 25th District and one in the nieghboring 26th District. The Times did not indicate if there were any horses at either location.

The 25th District is horseshoe-shaped (see, there is a horse theme) and includes Palos Verdes Peninsula, the L.A. Harbor area, Compton, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood and parts of Long Beach and more.

Wright wouldn't comment on the investigation to the Times. And of course, we're firm believers in innocent-until-proven-guilty. But if it is proven that Wright lives out of his district, he could lose his Senate seat.
