The dog show headed to the water this weekend at America's Family Pet Expo in Costa Mesa, as the search for the best surfing dog to appear on a 2017 Rose Parade float kicked off.
Lucy Pet Products is looking for a number of dogs to feature on their Rose Parade float, and so, it is taking a portable wave machine across the country to find its canine counterparts.
Dogs on surfboards will be testing their skills while riding the 20-inch-long wave machine. Their efforts will not only give them a shot at appearing in Pasadena come Jan. 1, but it will also help Lucy Pet Products raise money for a good cause.
Any and all profits from sales of their products will toward their pet foundation, which aims to reduce pet overpopulation and the euthanasia of over 80,000 dogs and cats per week in the country.
On hand at the expo will be famous former Dodgers Steve Garvey and Mickey Hatcher on Saturday and Garvey and Adam Kennedy on Sunday.
