Anaheim Hills Busboy Honored for Returning Lost $5,000

The busboy was honored by the Anaheim City Council on Tuesday

An Orange County busboy was honored Tuesday for turning in $5,000 that was lost by a 90-year-old customer.

Felipe Perez, a veteran employee at Keno's Restaurant in Anaheim Hills, was cleaning the bathroom last month when he found a cash-stuffed envelope on the floor.

Perez said he promptly handed the money over to his boss.

The customer, Walter Bloom, had dropped the money and was panicked, until he found out the cash had been turned in.

The money was eventually returned to Bloom.

The Anaheim City Council honored Perez on Tuesday with a proclamation for his act of kindness and integrity.

Perez said he is overwhelmed by the attention he has received for his honesty.
