Resident Leaps From Burning Apartment Building in Orange

A man leapt from a balcony to escape a fire at an apartment complex in Orange Wednesday.

The three alarm blaze at 2169 North Orange Olive Road started at around 11:30 p.m. It took 60 firefighters around 45 minutes to knock it down, Orange Fire Department Capt. Casey Fieldhouse said.

It was contained to one unit located on the second floor, and firefighters from Anaheim and Garden Grove provided assistance. 

The injured resident was taken by paramedics to UCI Medical Center for treatment, and his current condition is unknown

Red Cross responded to the scene to assist several residents with housing, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
