Police arrested a man who allegedly shot at detectives as they were investigating homicides in the Harbor area of Los Angeles earlier this week, police said Friday.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was arrested at an apartment at Avalon and Lomita boulevards along with a friend at 1:30 a.m. after an hours-long search that included a helicopter, police dogs and a SWAT team, police said.
The man was booked into custody on an attempted murder charge.
The man had outstanding warrants for attempted murder and robbery from an incident on Jan. 2 in Wilmington, said LAPD Capt. William Hayes, the commanding officer of the Harbor area police station.
LAPD officers had arrested two other men in connection with an attack earlier this week on detectives who were investigating three recent slayings in the area.
