Six Arrested After Blocking Intersection During South Los Angeles Protest March

Protesters marched from 65th Street and Broadway to Florence Avenue and Broadway

Six people were arrested during a late night protest which took over an intersection and blocked traffic in South Los Angeles Monday.

Protesters marched from 65th Street and Broadway to Florence Avenue and Broadway at around 11 p.m, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.

Up to 50 people took part in the demonstration, which came on the back of violent clashes in Baltimore sparked by the April 19 in-custody death of Freddie Gray.

After they took over the intersection and blocked traffic the South LA protesters refused orders from police to disperse.

Three people were arrested for interfering with police officers, while another was arrested for refusing to disperse. Another two were arrested for trying to force the detainees from police custody.

Three men and three women were arrested.

The situation was cleared around midnight, and no one suffered any injuries.
