VAN NUYS, Calif. -- Firefighters battled a blaze at a one-story furniture store just east of the Van Nuys Airport on Sunday, officials said.
Firefighters found a furniture showroom fully engulfed in fire at 15952 Strathern St. about 8:45 a.m., according to Los Angeles fire spokeswoman d'Lisa Davies.
One firefighter said the blaze had apparently been set at several locations, and arson investigators were at the scene. The building's roof supports were damaged in the fire, and firefighters voiced concerns about rooftop air conditioning units possibly falling.
Eighty-six firefighters were able to put the fire out by 9:51 a.m., Davies said.
No injuries were reported, and no damage estimate was immediately available.
The building houses a business called "Modern Outdoor Furniture,'' according to business directories.
