Authorities Arrest Boyfriend of Woman Stabbed to Death in Palmdale

The boyfriend of a woman who was found stabbed to death in Palmdale Saturday afternoon has been arrested.

Jose Martinez was booked on $1 million bail and was sechduled to appear in court on Sept. 23.

Deputies responded around 1:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of “person not breathing” in the 38000 block of 3rd Street East, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A woman with stab wounds to her upper torso was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Witnesses told investigators that the woman was arguing with her boyfriend earlier in the day. By the time deputies arrived on scene, the boyfriend was gone, officials said.

Martinez was identified as a person of interest Saturday. Martinez was described as a 37-year-old man from the Palmdale area.

Officials believe he is driving a blue 2008 4-door Nissan Altima with California license plate #6FFP144.
