James Cameron's new most-expensive-movie-of-all-time premieres Wednesday night in Hollywood. The $230 million (some rumors had it at $500 million) CG spectacular "Avatar," which eclipses Cameron's last $200 million budget breaker "Titanic,"  will play in 3-D at the Mann's Chinese Theater.

The film reunites Cameron and Sigourney Weaver along with new comer Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. Worthington plays Jake Sully, a paraplegic former Marine who uses a genetically engineered half-alien/half-human avatar to explore an alien moon.

"Avatar'' earned four Globe nominations Tuesday, including best picture (drama) and best director for Cameron. Not bad for a film that's not even out in the U.S. yet.

The film's world premiere took place December 10th in London.

Industry experts have been watching the film closely to see how audiences respond to the long-anticipated film, which uses cutting-edge digital technology to create dizzying 3-D special effects.
