Proving once again that robbing banks is a state of mind, a Baby Boomer is knocking over Southland banks.

A man between the ages of 55 and 65 -- aptly named the Baby Boomer Bandit -- has robbed two banks in Pasadena and on in San Gabriel.

  • Sept. 9: Chase Bank, 860 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena
  • June 5: Bank of America, 880 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena
  • April 2: Chase Bank, 120 W. Las Tunas Drive, San Gabriel

The man made verbal demands for cash, and handed "demand notes'' to tellers, said Laura Eimiller of the FBI. He carried a black bag or backpack, she said.

The robber is described as a Hispanic man, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing between 160 to 170 pounds, Eimiller said.

Anyone with information about the case can contact the FBI at 310-477-6565.
