Los Angeles isn't such a bad place to trick-or-treat on Halloween - in wealthy areas, at least, according to a property website.

The City of the Angels offers the sixth-best Halloween night experience in the nation for candy-seeking kids, according to Zillow. (If you must know, San Francisco takes the top spot.)

Zillow says it calculated the "Trick-or-Treat Index" for American cities and regions using four equally weighted variables: home values, population density, walkability factors and local crime data.

The best place for trick-or-treaters in LA is the Pacific Palisades. The tony area edged out Brentwood, Bel Air, Studio City and Cheviot Hills.

The website estimates the average home value in the Pacific Palisades at $2.2 million. Brentwood follows at $1.9 million, Bel Air at $2.8 million, Studio City at $894,000 and Cheviot Hills at nearly $1.5 million.

The site's informal study remains silent on whether king-sized homes translate to king-sized candy bars.

Development and property blog Curbed LA disagrees with most of Zillow's list, and offers its own.

The blog's picks: Windor Square/Larchmont Village, Manhattan Beach, South Pasadena, Hill Drive in Eagle Rock and - a spot the lists agree on - Studio City.
