Big Rig Slams Into Guardrail, Closing Lanes on 60 Freeway

A big rig crashed into a guardrail on the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights Friday morning, leaving debris on the freeway and causing a traffic backup east of downtown Los Angeles.

The crash occurred on the westbound 60 Freeway at Hacienda Boulevard about 1:45 a.m., said CHP Officer Tony Polizzi. The truck also leaked diesel fuel onto the lanes and destroyed about 150 feet of the wooden guardrail, according to the CHP.

Three freeway lanes were closed as crews worked to tow the big rig. One lane is expected to remain closed until 3 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
