A brush fire in the Silverwood Lake area caused a highway to shut down and forced people to be evacuated. Tony Shin reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. (Published Tuesday, July 4, 2017)

A fire scorched 20 acres of land on the north side of Highway 138, forcing evacuations in the Lake Silverwood area Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The fire, which broke out around 1:13 p.m., caused Highway 138 to close between Highway 173 and Old Mill Road and forced evacuations for Silverwood Campground, said the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
