More than 100 flight cancellations were reported at Los Angeles International Airport early Tuesday morning after a blizzard slammed the Northeast and left some travelers making last-minute changes.
Fifty-five arriving flights and 51 departing flights were canceled due to the blizzard that arrived in the Northeast late Monday, according to airport officials. More than 4,500 flight cancellations were reported nationwide Tuesday and travelers were urged to consult their airlines for specific flight information.
Most of the cancellations involve flights to or connecting in Boston, New York and New Jersey.
Some stranded passengers at LAX said it would take at least two days to find another flight.
“We don’t know where to stay, where to east, how to get to places,” said traveler Humberto Neves.
John McMahon and his wife were able to dodge the blizzard by hopping on a flight from JFK to LAX.
“I think we were probably the last flight out – we just got in. We got lucky,” said John McMahon.
Fears of getting stuck in New York compelled one LA family to rush back from a wedding.

"We were kind of panicking. We decided to come a little early,” said Niloo Rivani of Westwood. “We're really lucky that it wasn't canceled."
