Body Found After Sun Valley Brush Fire

Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body Thursday after a brush fire.

The body of a man was found early Thursday after firefighters knocked down a brush fire in Sun Valley.

The body was found in a ravine off La Tuna Canyon Road near the 210 Freeway.

Firefighters responded to the area at about 3 a.m. after a report of a small fire in the 8300 block of West La Tuna Canyon Road. LAPD detectives were called after the fire when firefighters discovered the body.

The victim's identity was not immediately available.

"We are teamed up with the LA Fire Department arson investigators to determine what happened here," said Capt. Joseph Hiltner, commanding officer of the LAPD Foothill Division.

There are hiking trails in the area that area accessed from a nearby parking lot.
