Body Found Floating in Lake at MacArthur Park

Officials have ruled out foul play and believe intoxication may have played a part in the man's drowning.

Foul play was not involved in the death of a man whose body was found floating in the lake at MacArthur Park Monday night.

Officers arrived at the scene around 8:30 p.m. and found a Hispanic male in his 40's floating in the lake, approximately 10 feet offshore, according to LAPD Detective Beerer.

"Didn’t look like there were any signs of foul play or any injuries to him. Did have some alcohol on him so intoxication may have had a part in his drowning," Beerer said.

Officers are working with the coroner to identify the victim and confirm the cause of death.

The lake at MacArthur Park is located near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Alvarado Street in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles.
