Police ruled the death of a man whose body was found in a Brentwood parking garage as a suicide, officials said on Monday.

Homicide detectives had been called out to investigate the death who appeared to have suffered from gunshot wounds and whose body was found in an underground parking garage in the Brentwood Park area, police said.

Officers were sent to the 800 block of Gretna Green Way about 7:25 a.m. on Monday after someone saw the man on the ground next to a vehicle "with blood around him,'' said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman of the Media Relations office.

The man died at the scene, Eisenman said. His name was not immediately known.

The case was being investigated as a possible homicide, Eisenman said.
