Body Found in Pacoima Garage After Fire

The body of a woman was found Wednesday morning after a fire in a garage in Pacoima.

The fire in the 12900 block of Sunburst Street was reported at 9 a.m. The woman's boyfriend tried to rescue her from the fire, according to fire officials.

About 30 firefighters responded to the fire, which was confined to the detached garage. The coverted garage might have been used as a living space, according to fire crews.

The fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes.

Details regarding a cause of death and a cause of the fire were not immediately available.

An adult male suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation, according to the LA Fire Department.
