Sheriff’s detectives continued Sunday to find the person or people responsible for shooting a man and dumping his body into the Los Angeles River.

Authorities were alerted to the body found near Southern Avenue, just south Firestone Boulevard and north of Imperial Highway, about 10:20 a.m. Saturday, officials said.

The man, whose name was unavailable, appeared to have been shot in the head, deputies said.
