Man Arrested After Body Discovered Near Freeway Off-Ramp in Sun Valley

A man was under arrest after a man's body was found near an off-ramp on Interstate 5 in Sun Valley Friday morning, authorities said.

Two homeless men were involved in a fight before the man's death Friday morning, according to detectives.

A homeless man and woman approached Emanuel Larios, who was working at a business nearby, for help. They told Larios their friend had been "beat up, really bad," and asked someone to call 911, Larios said. A store customer made the call just after 9:30 a.m.

When authorities arrived, the man's body was discovered next to a retaining wall of the freeway near the Lankershim Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Los Angeles Police Department was called to the scene, where witnesses told detectives the victim and suspect were involved in an argument over personal property that belonged to the victim, but that the suspect wanted to have, said Mike Kozak of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect was under arrest Friday evening, police said.

Police said no suspects were outstanding.
