The bound body of a woman was found early Tuesday morning in a Santa Fe Springs trash bin, according to authorities.
Police said the body's hands and feet appeared to be tied with wire, possibly extension cord or electrical wire. Whittier police said the body was discovered at about 12:30 a.m.
Firefighters doused a blaze in the trash bin in a parking lot on Firestone Boulevard, near the 5 freeway.
Investigators said the victim had two tattoos on her upper shoulders. The tattoos were described as a butterfly on the left shoulder blade and the name "DAVID" on the right shoulder, next to the shoulder blade.
Anyone with information was asked to call Whittier PD at 562-945-8250.
